Privacy policy.
Effective 3 September 2026
This policy explains what information soooftware ("we", "us") collects when you visit this website or get in touch, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are a software studio based in the United States. Questions go to hello@soooftware.com.
We keep this short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us.
What we collect
Information you give us:
- When you send a brief through the site: your email address, what you write about your project, and any budget or project details you choose to include.
- When you request our scoping checklist: your email address.
- When you email us directly: whatever you include in the message.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage analytics through PostHog: pages viewed, buttons clicked, which sections of a page you reached, the device and browser you use, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. PostHog sets a first-party cookie and uses browser storage to recognise a returning browser.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider: IP address, request time, and the page requested, used for security and troubleshooting.
If you book a call, you do so through Cal.com. Cal.com collects your name, email and chosen time under its own privacy policy, and shares the booking with us.
How we use it
- To reply to your brief, send you the checklist, and schedule and hold the call you booked.
- To prepare a proposal if you ask for one.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To keep the site secure and diagnose problems.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (replying to your brief, scheduling a call), on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the site and communicating with people who contact us, and with your consent for analytics cookies where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Vercel, which hosts the website.
- Our database provider, which stores the briefs and checklist requests you send.
- Resend, which sends our email, including the confirmation you receive after sending a brief.
- PostHog, which provides analytics.
- Cal.com, which handles call bookings.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep briefs and messages for as long as we are in touch about a project and for up to twenty-four months after our last contact, then delete them, unless we need to keep them for a contract or a legal obligation. Analytics data is kept according to PostHog's retention settings for our account. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask for a copy. Email hello@soooftware.com and we will respond within thirty days. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies
The site uses a first-party analytics cookie and browser storage set by PostHog to recognise a returning browser and measure how the site is used. It does not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; the site works without them.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers process information there and in other countries. Where required, transfers from the EU or UK rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard offered by the provider.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
