Pulse — Health dashboard

The story.

Pulse brings wearables, lab results and clinical records into one daily view. Discovery reframed the product around “what changed today”; we then built the iOS and Android apps with HealthKit and Health Connect integrations and a sync engine that works offline.

The product.

Every screen people use: what it does, the decision behind it, and the details.

Pulse — Today summary

Today summary

The day in one screen: movement, sleep, heart, and the one thing worth doing next. Ordered by what changed, not by data source, because that is how people ask about their health.

Pulse — Heart rate

Heart rate

Resting, active and variability over the day, with the wearable's readings and any clinical ones on the same axis. Tap a spike and the app shows what you were doing.

Pulse — Sleep analysis

Sleep analysis

Stages, duration and consistency, scored against your own baseline rather than a population. The advice underneath is written by clinicians and changes with the data.

Pulse — Lab results

Lab results

Blood work imported from the lab's PDF and laid against reference ranges and your history. The parser was the hard part: it handles the forty formats seen so far.

Pulse — Activity rings

Activity rings

Movement, exercise and standing as three rings, filled from whichever wearable is worn today. Goals adapt weekly, so a bad week lowers the bar instead of breaking the streak.

Pulse — Trends

Trends

Any metric over weeks and months, with the events that might explain it: travel, illness, a new medication. Correlations are suggested, never asserted.

Pulse — Journal

Journal

Free notes and symptoms, tagged to the day, next to the numbers. The journal is what makes the trends readable, and it is the screen people use most.

Pulse — Wearables

Wearables

Every connected source, its last sync and what it contributes. Conflicts between devices are resolved by rules you can read, so the numbers are never a mystery.

In their words.

“They asked the hard questions we were avoiding. The product that shipped is 10× better than what we originally scoped. Genuinely rare talent.”
